there’s something to be said~
Alis Volat Propriis...she flies with her own wings~
She does, indeed. Growing up, I was always drawn to women of strength. The typical female role was the sort that were frail; the fragile…needing constant guidance and saving. In a large sense, incapable.
I knew that wasn’t what I felt inside. I would watch the various levels of helplessness in disbelief. the perpetual victims of this too tough life~faint…’Grab the lil miss some smelling salts type’ swooning has a certain beauty to it in novels or the flamboyant southern charm from corseted up creations.
Don’t get me wrong. I adore being feminine~ There are things about being a women that I embrace and truly relish. But the thing that inspired me to rise from the knocks life can throw…the inspirational women of grit and confidence~ Ahhhh…now that is the things of which I’m made.
Here’s to strong women. I am proud that there were those of you to model myself after in a positive, self loving sort of way. I coursty daintily to the ‘no matter how many times we fall~that many times plus one we will rise’ women.
